Established in 2008 as a collaborative design & sculpture studio by UW-Madison alumni William Grant Turnbull & Alexander Gar-Sing Wong, the Paradigm Forge spent its first decade working in tandem with local glass artists Laura Richards and Richard Jones, and studio jeweler & metalsmith Beth Zarden-Benson. Together we have created 18 major public sculpture projects (in 12 cities across 6 states, with dozens of custom fabrication projects across 3 more, and 2 countries, to life in our 1500 square feet at Madison’s storied Winnebago Studios. While Mr.Wong has since relocated to the Twin Cities (now an assistant Professor of robotics and manufacturing at Dunwoody College) after Winnebago studio's redevelopment, Mr. Turnbull relocated operations alongside Crucible nightclub, in a cavernous garage that was formerly Capitol City International Truck.
Since 2022, the shop has moved again- to Stoughton, (behind Valkyrie art collective, across East Main from Abel contemporary, sharing a parking lot with the Lageret event venue (whose sign we were proud to improve on.) More public sculpture coming summer 2025 to Dubuque's Art on the River Exhibit.

COVID-19 has devastated many of the local cultural institutions we work with, and we're all in the same boat . Industrial studios require heavy-duty infrastructure. A portion of any contribution you can make will go towards helping the Crucible Arts District keep the forge stoked and the 3-phase power on.
